Weekend!

My weekend was great!
On Saturday I hung out with Emma all day and we got coffee, McDonald's, went to a few stores and just loitered haha. Then we came back to my house and she hung out until almost midnight. It was great.
On Sunday I hung out with her again. She came over with Joey and she gave my dog a flea bath (what weird/great friend right?), then we went and ate at Buffalo Wild Wings (YUM!) and joked around. We went to Adorn to check prices for tattoos and then we went to Dutch Bros (MY FAVORITE COFFEE SHOP EVER! Thank goodness there's one down the street from SOU) Washington Square, unfortunately it was Sunday and they close at 8, so we basically walked in then walked out (not exactly, but basically). Then we came back to my house and they hung out until 8:30.

That was my weekend.

This week I'm not doing much, on Thursday Roomie and I are going downtown to meet two girls we're going to be carpooling with, because we all live in Portland so it'll be easier. Plus only Roomie is bringing a car. Then on Friday I'm going to get my I.D and hanging out with Emma. Saturday we're going to Saturday Market possibly with Joey. Then she might get a tattoo. I'm glad I'm finally doing fun things!
Only 19 more days until I leave, gotta party it up before I go party too much ;)

P.S I recently got introduced to a rapper (by a guy also going to SOU) and I am OBSESSED! His name is Mac Miller and I really think you should check him out. He cusses and talks about weed a lot, but I really like him. So here's my favorite music video by him!

Kid at Heart

Since college is literally right around the corner (22 more days!) I've been realizing how much I actually miss being a kid with little responsibility and endless imagination, so I thought I would dedicate a post to being a kid. Even though I am 18 and going to be a college student in less than a month, I am still very much a kid. I think like a kid, occasionally act like a kid, and I still LOVE kid things.
These are PERFECT examples of my childlike state of being. These are the "bookends" that my roomie and I got for our dorm, we couldn't find any actual bookends that were cute, so we got these cheap at Target
Meet Alfalfa! (Ashley's)

Meet Remy! (Mine)
Yes my piggy is named after Remy from Ratatouille (My favorite movie, and more proof!). I love that we named them and that mine is a chalkboard, I was so excited! I got really colorful chalk from Fred Meyer for $.99!!
I'm also taking my pillow pet!
I still enjoy watching Disney movies, animated or not. Here's a list of my all time favorite Disney movies:
All Toy Story movies (Btw I totally love that picture!)
There are more, but that list would be too long to read, so I'll move on.

More proof I'm still a kid:
I freaked out when I found out that Teen Nick was bringing back TV shows from the '90s. All That, Kenan and Kel, Clarissa Explains It All, and Doug! I was so excited. Also last night I downloaded Phineas and Ferb ringtones, and the Boy Meets World theme song.

The moral of this story is that I will FOREVER be a kid at heart. No matter how old I am, who tries to change me, or who can't stand me because of it. I will never change who I am to please someone else, and neither should you. If someone can't love you for who you are, then they don't deserve your love at all.
I didn't mean for this to turn into a lesson, but I think it works. And I'm sure that I'll be submitting photos soon of me being a big kid :)

Twinsie!

This is us in a nut shell, Emma being a pterodactyl, and me being... well me
So since I did a post about my British Mate, I thought it would be fun to do posts about some of my closest friends, once a week there'll be a new post about my friends. So without further ado, here is my Twinsie! Check out her makeup blog here!

Name: Emma
Age: 18
Location: Beaverton, but soon way too far away from me in Gresham
Friends Since: 8th grade!
Best Memory: Hmmmmm... I'll have to go with our Pre-Prom "photo shoot"
The only normal picture we took during this haha.
I've known Emma for years and every time we hang out I laugh until my abs hurt and I can't breathe! We have so much fun. whether it's walking in the middle of the street at 11 pm or watching movies and quoting them every chance we get. There's never a dull moment with us.

Prime examples:
We were obsessed with this little tree,
we took like three picture with it that day  haha
We're so cute.... Or at least we tell ourselves that to make us feel better haha
One of our better Pre-Prom pics :)

Bad pictures since Freshman year, 2008
Last day of Freshman year, we went to Target. Yes we're so cool

And we still took bad pictures Senior Year... 2010
First football game of the year
Our "cute" picture, we were pretending to be prissy brats, did we succeed?

We have so many memories together, but I think what stands out most to me is our conversations. They're random, insane, hilarious, confusing, usually about absolutely nothing, majorly out of control, and if anyone read/overheard our conversations we'd either be arrested or institutionalized. I LOVE them! Here's a taste of last nights convo.

ME: Why do I love some commercials more than I love actual shows? Haha
HER: Haha I have a select few that I feel that way about! Haha

ME: I love so many of them, and then others I'm just like "Wow cool waste my 30 seconds or so. A-Holes" Haha
HER: Haha omg I know. That is why I avoid blogs for the most part haha

ME: What? Haha I was talking about commercials......
HER: Oh... Haha Oops. I forgot haha but soooo true!

ME: Hahaha good job!
HER: Thanks haha. But you know how I am haha
ME: Haha true after you said that I cracked up.

Some of our conversations are even more random that that, and others are INSANE (later we talked about shaving our heads and having ugly head shapes.....), once we plotted to "kidnap" two guys with her grandparents creepy rapist van (see? Arrested or institutionalized) now that convo was HYSTERICAL!

Even though I'm going to be in south in Ashland, and she's going to be north in Gresham, I hope we can stay close friends. She's one of the people I go to when I want to be insane and wild and loud and out of control. She's been my best friend since I met her and I hope to keep it that way for a LONG time.

She's such a good friend that she made me a veggie burger
 before my Hairspray performance!
We've had our ups and down, like all dynamic duos, but I will always love my Twinsie! :)

Portland, OR.

Also known as, home.
Lately I've been thinking a lot about all the fun times I've had here, I've also been thinking of all of the times I complained about being here. They say "you don't know what you e got till it's gone", but I didn't know what I had until the middle of senior year. And once high school was over I started cherishing this area so much more. I always thought that Portland was beautiful, but your eyes open so much wider when you're leaving soon.
Even though I know going to Ashland is what's best for me, I'm going to miss this place like crazy. I've lived here for 18 years and well I'm kind of in love with it. Of course I get holidays and other times I want to venture up here, but it won't be the same. I'm used to having Portland around 24/7. The beautiful Mt. Hood in the background and the beach only an hour or so away.
Mt. Hood at it's finest
Seaside 2011!

I think the thing I'll miss the most is the memories and places that hold a place in my heart.
A park my friend and I went too near the end of Junior year
My first time at VooDoo Doughnut with my British mate and her family!
A picture I took on one of my epic walks to my British mates house!
A deer right outside of my British mates bedroom window
A hotel in Tigard that looked too epic not to take a picture of

Fourth of July 2010 at Oak Hills!
All of the adventures and fun times will never leave my head or heart. I'll just be making new ones for a later blog post. Sorry to bore you with all of my photos, but I love Portland/Beaverton so much. I always will be a Portland girl!

P.s sorry for the crappy camera phone pictures, I used to own a phone with THE worst camera ever!

My "British" mate!

Not too long ago I was talking about a weekend with my "British" mate and I said I'd talk about it more later, well it's later! Here are some basics:
Name: LaBria
Age: 18
Location: In the far away country part of Hillsboro
Known since: Middle school!
Best memory: Going to Lloyd Center and pretending to be British and people believing us :)

So now that you know the basics I'll let you in on why we're "British" mates, I don't remember the exact day or anything but we both realized we love England and somehow that lead to us being British mates, we enjoy talking in accents and learning the lingo too.

Best memory explaination: A few summers ago we had to stay in a hotel downtown to babysit her sisters and another girl and Lloyd center was right down the street. We went down there with the kids and of course if people see two teens with three little babies then they assume the worst. I'm pretty sure like two or three people asked if they were ours.... AWKWARD! Anyway we went back sans the children when we could and we spoke in British accents the whole time. People actually thought we were from England, it was so funny. Since then when we think of it we talk in British accents in public just to get a rise.

She's easily one of my BEST friends, I would be so lost without her. When I can I go over to her house and stay for days. We usually watch a million movies and TV shows, our favorite is How I Met Your Mother. Barney Stinson, for the win!
SUIT UP!!!
From left to right, Barney Stinson, Robin Scherbatsky, Ted Mosby, Lily Aldrin, and Marshall Eriksen
We also love fake mustache. I don't know what it is, but we LOVE them! Here are some prime examples of that:
Our trip to WA was made better by the fake mustaches L bought at the mall :)
Sorry it's blurry

This is our take on Dane Cook's "Oh no! Johnson smiled joke! I was Johnson

I think I look like Mario...
Once I graduate from SOU I plan on moving down to LA with L, we're going to have an amazing little place filled with our favorite colors (green, her, and yellow, me) I can't wait for that to happen!
2009 Warped Tour, we were waiting in line to meet The White Tie Affair, three months later they remembered us :)

We also enjoy going to the movies together and in 2009 and 2010 we went to Warped Tour together. We didn't go this year and it made me sad, but I got to experience Dew Tour so I'll live! We've gone to so many concerts together and since I'll be close to CA we'll definitely be going to more soon!

I'm so glad I decided to share my British Mate with you! Hope you enjoyed it too!

Dew tour and letter writing

Yesterday (August 12th) was AMAZING!!!!!!!! My friend woke me up with a million messages, then asked if I wanted to go to The Dew Tour, of course I said yes! I had so much fun, I drank a million shots of different flavored Mountain Dews, and fell in love with BMX :)
If you haven't seen BMX live or otherwise, you need to. Ladies there is nothing hotter than a SUPER cute boy being dangerous and doing insane and AMAZING tricks on a bike. I have to say I am still pumped. And I got even more pumped because my friend might be able to get me a ticket for tomorrow too! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Okay aside from my new BMX obsession, I wrote a letter to my grandma today, it was nice. I love writing letters. I find it way more personal than texting or email.
(Side note I adore Harry Potter and I am so sad that there aren't anymore movies. On the plus side I am signed up for Pottermore and I get an exclusive look with a few other people, so excited!)
I also found out that I get even more excited and random when I proceed to write letters. I figured I'd write a few short letters to people and things that are on my mind.

Dear Summer,
I love you, and this summer has been a trip and a half. Maybe next year I can have an all good one? Thank you for all the fun memories. I'm having a happy/sad time with the fact that you are coming to an end so quickly.
Until next year,
The girl who needs the summer heat to survive

Dear straightener,
Thank you so much for working for so long and taking my messy curls and turning them into the beautiful long straight locks that I love so much. I promise to retire you as soon as I can afford a new one.
Gratefully yours,
Curls to love

Dear Facebook,
You distract me daily and I am way too attached to you. I vow to chill on the number of times I view you in the coming months. Also thanks for having the Class of 2015 group, I've met so many people since.
Thanks again,
Facebook addict

Dear "friend",
It hurts you won't talk to me, but I am so over your immaturity. Thank you for making me see that I need to find people who act their age and not their shoe size.
Sincerely,
I'm a grown up, so I'm going to act that way

Dear Roomie,
I LOVE you! Thanks for taking me to my first Dew Tour and being willing to live with me for an entire school year. I can't wait for us to have stories and memories to share.
Lovingly yours,
Romie number two

Dear phone,
I am obsessed with you. Thanks for being so kick-ass.
Love,
Obsessed and not ashamed

Dear Dew Tour,
I vow to go every year until you end or I die. I am so glad I went this year. Thanks for introducing me to my new BMX loves and for the insane and awesome vibe you had. Extreme sports are now my favorite.
Thanks so much,
Going-every-year

And lastly:

Dear readers,
Thank you so much for reading this. It means a lot to me that people actually read what I have to say. I would love your feedback more often, so don't be afraid to comment or even email me. I am so glad that I have a way to get out my feelings and memories in a safe way. I am also thankful that I can make people laugh and care about things.

Sometimes you just have to scream in a blanket and cry!

So I have wanted to post for DAYS, but I've either been busy or had nothing to talk about, but then today at exactly 3:00 pm PST the most amazing thing happened! One minute I'm literally screaming in a blanket and tears are forming in my eyes, the next minute my phone is doing the Kim Possible Kimmunicator ringtone (my phones way of telling me I have an email, because yes I'm still a child at heart and I will always love KP),
I stop my little pity party and open the email, this is what it said:
This is HUGE news because I've known Ashley since Freshman year of high school and we kind of fell out of friendship, but then we found we were going to the same school we started talking again and we even have a class together! Housing messed up when they first gave us our room assignments, so this COMPLETELY makes up for it! I haven't been able to stop smiling since.

To add to this excitement I am moving to Ashland in 38 days, Ashley won't be down for 43 days because she'll be on a trip, but I am so beyond excited. We're planning on getting together and figuring out who is getting what for the room and all that. I can't wait!! I have to say this is definitely the best news I've gotten all summer!

Weekend update: I had an INSANE weekend full of movies, TV shows, YouTube videos, music videos, phone calls with guys who can't rap but try, and milkshakes with a kick. I will miss weekends with my "British mate" (more on that later), but she'll just have to come down south (Ashland) to have weekends just as crazy.
What did you guys do last weekend? Have you had any AMAZING news this summer? Leave a comment, I'd love to hear all about it!

Have an amazing week!

Summertime Insomnia and College prep

So I have been up wayyyy to long. It's 5:55 am and I haven't slept in hours. What have I been doing? Oh you know reading blogs, playing games, watching music videos, petting my dog, and other things that definitely could have waited until a reasonable hour of the day. Why is it that during the summer I am just not tired until ridiculous hours of the morning?
On a positive note I have been reading some helpful college prep blogs and sites. I feel a bit childish saying that because I remember doing that same thing when I was going into high school (so glad those days are over), but I just want to be SUPER prepared. Although I think I'll still be unprepared... Oh well. At least I have a few tips and tricks on how to survive, what to bring, how not to dress, and all the other essential things for Freshman year. I think I am a little too excited for college, I mean I was definitely never this excited for high school, but I guess it's all a part of growing up.

11.5 hours later....
I'm happy to say that I am well rested and ready for anything. Unfortunately I just got an email saying what room I'm in this year, and I am not happy at all. I don't want to complain but I didn't even sign up for that complex or hall! Hopefully it all gets sorted out soon.
Besides this little fact  I cannot stop thinking about college and all the fun things leading up to it. Planning my trip down there, getting rid of things, buying new things, meeting new people, seeing a new city and all the new adventures. The only downside I can think of is packing, ick, there's nothing more that I hate than packing. But it'll lead to fun and happiness, so I'll get over it.
Time to go create even more lists and word processor documents that all say the same thing in a different way :)
Too excited for college
