"Man I love college" -Asher Roth (this totally sums it all up!)

Hey guys! I really hope you can forgive me for not posting in forever, I haven't had internet and I finally got it to work after 6,000 years haha.

I got to SOU on the 17th and I have been pretty busy ever since. I took a class earlier so I could move in six days before everyone else, I'd say it was well worth it. I got two credits for the class and I only had it for four days. This post was supposed to have pictures of my dorm before and after I moved in, but since my brain has had little sleep (I've pretty much gone to bed at 5-5:30-ish every night since Thursday) and it has been on overdrive I accidentally deleted them the other day when I was bored. I will post a few pictures eventually, but since school starts tomorrow and I still have a lot to do before then I have to wait to do that.

I have so much I need to do today and it seems like I have no time at all. I am really loving Ashland and SOU, I think I made the best decision of my life to come here. Everyone living on campus has only been here for four days, but already I have met some seriously wonderful people that I hope I will be friends with for a long time, and I have met some great eye candy ;)

I can't wait to tell you all about my first day of class and all of the fun things I do tomorrow, but until then I have to keep things short.

Oreos and Milk

Is this not the cutest?

Definitely my favorite dessert! I don't really like chocolate, but when I crave it I automatically think of Oreos, it's like instinct. I just had a delicious glass of milk and a single pack of Oreos (the kind that come in 12 packs of 6 cookies), so great!

And now an update into my life:
Since I leave in 3 days, I have all of my stuff packed so it's ready to go. You'd think that it would be weirder to have all of your  stuff in bags and containers, but oddly I hardly notice.

It's weird to think that I'm leaving in three days, but I am beyond excited! I will try to post on Saturday and show you guys my dorm and the school and the car when it's all packed. I am so excited!

The sad thing is that Ashley won't be there when I get there :( I am very sad about that but I will have fun for a few days and then when she gets there, we'll totally party! :)

It's sad that I have to say "see you later" to my hometown, family and friends, but luckily my Twinsie said she'll visit me! And I'll only be gone for two months until winter break, so I think I'll survive! 

Another plus is that since it's my week my mom is making all of my favorite foods for dinner! It is really deliciously awesome!

Friday is going to be the best! I'm hanging out with my Twinsie and I get the best dinner! Then Saturday I get a delicious breakfast and have to suffer through a five hour drive down to Ashland. I may not survive ;)

Anyway it's dinner time and I smell cauliflower! Mmmmmm

A Few of My Favorite Things: Fall

Fall is starting soon and I thought I would share a few of my favorite things, fall edition:

1.

Hot Chocolate with marshmallows, there is nothing I love more than cuddling up with a big mug of hot cocoa with marshmallows on top. Obviously I choose this picture because I would love to have cloud shaped marshmallows.

2.

When the Leaves Change Colors, I love the reds and yellows and oranges. When the leaves start changing that's when I know that fall is right around the corner!

3.

Rain, I have lived in Portland/Beaverton my whole life and no matter how much I complain, I LOVE the rain. Especially in the fall. The rain boots, the umbrellas, the puddles, the sky before, during, and after, and the smell once it stops. Can't get enough. 

4.

Saying goodbye to summer, in memorable ways with friends.

5.

School, I can't help but get those pre-school jitters EVERY year on the first day of school. No matter how long I've gone to that school I always get them. Will I make it to school on time? Will I walk into the wrong classroom? Will I like my teachers? Will I know anyone in class? Will I be able to open my locker? Will any of my friends have the same lunch as me? All of those questions go through my head. Luckily I won't have to worry about half those things this year.

6.

My Twinsie's birthday! I love birthdays as a whole, but especially when it's for someone I love, and trust me I love this girl!

Halloween, candy, costumes, decorations, "scary" stories, and the Disney Halloween movies that come back once a year! What's not to love?

8.

Thanksgiving, I don't really enjoy the food, but I love what the holiday is as a whole. Getting together with family you may not see all the time, cooking, watching Football, watching the Macy's Day Parade, and getting to give thanks for everything in your life.

2 weeks...

I have been a lazy blogger and haven't done my Friend of the Week this week, so this post will be a little longer than most because it'll be a dual post.

Friend of the Week

Location: Beaverton, soon to be in Greensprings dorm complex with me!
Friends since: Freshman year, recently reconnected.

Ashley is so funny, and we get along so well! I don't want to say too much because I want to do a full post about my roomie in the future, but what I will say is that she and I are so alike and I think that we'll be really good roommates. We're going to have so much fun this year! I'm really glad that we reconnected senior year and are now going to be roommates! I will be sure to add more about Ashley in a later post!

Now that I B.sed my friend of the week, here's my real post.

I have exactly two weeks until I leave for SOU! I am so excited, and I have 90% of what I need! So once my two weeks are up I shall be on my way to starting my college adventure. Speaking of college adventures, on the first of this month Ashley and I went downtown to meet two other girls that live in Portland and are going to SOU this fall. We had so much fun! We got downtown around 4pm and went straight to the Pioneer Courthouse Square Starbucks to meet Kindra, but she got confused and went to Pioneer Place Starbucks instead, they're only about a block or two down the street from each other so it wasn't really a huge problem. She walked to us and then we decided to wander around, well we ended up going to Pioneer Place. Basically we made Kindra walk to us for no reason haha. Anyway we wandered around and eventually we completely starving, but we couldn't eat until Emily got there so we kept walking until Ashley got the text saying Emily was close. Then we went to the food court and finally met up with Emily. We stayed downtown for about four or five hours. It was SO much fun! Especially the end where we couldn't find our way home from downtown haha. Downtown in daylight=WAY different at night!

In other news! My grandma from Michigan bought me a laptop!!

This is to show two things: 1) My new beautiful laptop and
2)That I spent my day playing Mystery P.I: San Francisco

I honestly love it so much! It is so perfect for college and just for fun. I unfortunately can't blog from it since we don't have wi-fi here and it's too late to go to Starbucks or somewhere. But I do get to play games and watch DVDs on it.

Okay so this post isn't as long as I thought it would be, but I did tell you guys everything I wanted to! I'll try to be less lazy when it comes to blogging, sometimes I can't think of things to say, or I have no pictures, or both. I'll work on that!

Weekend!

My weekend was great!

On Saturday I hung out with Emma all day and we got coffee, McDonald's, went to a few stores and just loitered haha. Then we came back to my house and she hung out until almost midnight. It was great.

On Sunday I hung out with her again. She came over with Joey and she gave my dog a flea bath (what weird/great friend right?), then we went and ate at Buffalo Wild Wings (YUM!) and joked around. We went to Adorn to check prices for tattoos and then we went to Dutch Bros (MY FAVORITE COFFEE SHOP EVER! Thank goodness there's one down the street from SOU) Washington Square, unfortunately it was Sunday and they close at 8, so we basically walked in then walked out (not exactly, but basically). Then we came back to my house and they hung out until 8:30.

That was my weekend.

This week I'm not doing much, on Thursday Roomie and I are going downtown to meet two girls we're going to be carpooling with, because we all live in Portland so it'll be easier. Plus only Roomie is bringing a car. Then on Friday I'm going to get my I.D and hanging out with Emma. Saturday we're going to Saturday Market possibly with Joey. Then she might get a tattoo. I'm glad I'm finally doing fun things!

Only 19 more days until I leave, gotta party it up before I go party too much ;)

P.S I recently got introduced to a rapper (by a guy also going to SOU) and I am OBSESSED! His name is Mac Miller and I really think you should check him out. He cusses and talks about weed a lot, but I really like him. So here's my favorite music video by him!

Kid at Heart

Since college is literally right around the corner (22 more days!) I've been realizing how much I actually miss being a kid with little responsibility and endless imagination, so I thought I would dedicate a post to being a kid. Even though I am 18 and going to be a college student in less than a month, I am still very much a kid. I think like a kid, occasionally act like a kid, and I still LOVE kid things.

These are PERFECT examples of my childlike state of being. These are the "bookends" that my roomie and I got for our dorm, we couldn't find any actual bookends that were cute, so we got these cheap at Target

Yes my piggy is named after Remy from Ratatouille (My favorite movie, and more proof!). I love that we named them and that mine is a chalkboard, I was so excited! I got really colorful chalk from Fred Meyer for $.99!!

More proof I'm still a kid:
I freaked out when I found out that Teen Nick was bringing back TV shows from the '90s. All That, Kenan and Kel, Clarissa Explains It All, and Doug! I was so excited. Also last night I downloaded Phineas and Ferb ringtones, and the Boy Meets World theme song.

The moral of this story is that I will FOREVER be a kid at heart. No matter how old I am, who tries to change me, or who can't stand me because of it. I will never change who I am to please someone else, and neither should you. If someone can't love you for who you are, then they don't deserve your love at all.
I didn't mean for this to turn into a lesson, but I think it works. And I'm sure that I'll be submitting photos soon of me being a big kid :)

Twinsie!

This is us in a nut shell, Emma being a pterodactyl, and me being... well me

So since I did a post about my British Mate, I thought it would be fun to do posts about some of my closest friends, once a week there'll be a new post about my friends. So without further ado, here is my Twinsie! Check out her makeup blog here!

I've known Emma for years and every time we hang out I laugh until my abs hurt and I can't breathe! We have so much fun. whether it's walking in the middle of the street at 11 pm or watching movies and quoting them every chance we get. There's never a dull moment with us.

We have so many memories together, but I think what stands out most to me is our conversations. They're random, insane, hilarious, confusing, usually about absolutely nothing, majorly out of control, and if anyone read/overheard our conversations we'd either be arrested or institutionalized. I LOVE them! Here's a taste of last nights convo.

ME: Why do I love some commercials more than I love actual shows? Haha
HER: Haha I have a select few that I feel that way about! Haha

ME: I love so many of them, and then others I'm just like "Wow cool waste my 30 seconds or so. A-Holes" Haha
HER: Haha omg I know. That is why I avoid blogs for the most part haha

ME: What? Haha I was talking about commercials......
HER: Oh... Haha Oops. I forgot haha but soooo true!

ME: Hahaha good job!
HER: Thanks haha. But you know how I am haha
ME: Haha true after you said that I cracked up.


Some of our conversations are even more random that that, and others are INSANE (later we talked about shaving our heads and having ugly head shapes.....), once we plotted to "kidnap" two guys with her grandparents creepy rapist van (see? Arrested or institutionalized) now that convo was HYSTERICAL!

Even though I'm going to be in south in Ashland, and she's going to be north in Gresham, I hope we can stay close friends. She's one of the people I go to when I want to be insane and wild and loud and out of control. She's been my best friend since I met her and I hope to keep it that way for a LONG time.
