I'm baaaaaaaack!

I guess I've accidentally taken a 3 year hiatus from this blog... Oops. However I am back and this time I am actually trying to stick to the whole blog thing! I know, I know, I've said that before, but I really mean it this time. With almost being done with college I need some place to vent about feelings and fears and excited and all of that! Can you guys believe that I am finally graduating from college? I started this blog back in 2011 right before I started college and look at me now!
Things have been pretty crazy in the last 5 years, hell even the last three years have been crazy. I guess I'll have to do a post to kinda catch you up.
This post is just a welcome back to the blog post! I'm pretty excited to back into blogging, there are a few new changes that I want to keep track of. Another plus is that blogs are virtual scrapbooks! The other day I was looking at my old travel blog from my trip to Michigan and it was like I was there again, it was really cool. Anyway I'm gonna keep this post short, but I hope that you all have a had a great week, a wonderful weekend, and I'll see you guys next week!

The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly: part II

Last year I gave a highlights of my freshman year in college (here).

This year I figured I'd do it again and keep the tradition alive. So without further ado:

THE GOOD:
  • Meeting amazing new friends
  • Living on an AWESOME floor
  • Saturday Night ;)
  • Getting a job at the Preschool
  • My birthday
  • All of the random trips downtown and to Medford
  • Realizing it's time to move on from those people I thought were my friends
  • Movie nights
  • C and G singing Pitch Perfect songs to me to make me feel better
  • Having a mega bed and a room to myself all year
  • Getting a new piercing
  • Playing kings cup on my dorm floor
  • Having friends with the same majors as me [makes class much more fun]
  • Finding great roommates for this coming year
  • Seeing the Great Gatsby with Burrito and his brother
  • Throwing eggs off the balcony for absolutely no reason
  • Spending my last Saturday in Ashland with C in bookstores, antique shops and getting Dutch
  • All of the moments that were tweet-worthy, insta-worthy, or memorable in any way

THE BAD:
  • Burrito leaving school
  • Being bored and alone for Thanksgiving break
  • The frustration accompanied by Operation: Thunder Cats
  • Party problems
  • Having to come back to Beaverton for the summer
  • Finals week [but when is it not, am I right?]

THE UGLY:
  • K #2 and her Instagram selfies (especially her mug shot hahaha)
  • K #1 and her outfit choices [Insert scared face emoji here]
  • The night I spent on the bathroom floor....
  • Playing kings cup on my dorm floor
  • Packing while half naked and tipsy [long story... haha]
  • Crying after everyone left for summer break

I tried to think of more things to put on my lists but I couldn't think of anything else. I think the fact that my good list is longer than both the bad and ugly put together proves that this year was a very good one. I have met some of the most amazing people who made my second year of college one of the most spectacular years of my entire education career.
I have also come to realize over this past year that I am a very blessed and lucky girl to have the friends and the opportunity to attend a University that is fantastic.

Thanks for listening to my rambles, and stay tuned because I have some great ideas for the future

Finals Week

This is how I feel about Finals week:
I have zero motivation to study, I just want to sleep for the next three days.
The good news is that I get to go home soon and won't have to worry about my asshole Spanish teacher ever again. And I get to see my lovely British mate, who I haven't seen in about a year.
The bad news I won't be able to see Burrito for a month.
I'm also looking forward to all of the lovely food that I will eat, and Christmas should be pretty enjoyable.
To be honest though I am pretty excited for next term.
Mostly because of this boy that has caught my attention recently.
Anyway just an update, I have to finish my Psych paper now.
Happy finals week

Just a few things

Lately I have been having an overwhelming feeling of pure happiness,
and since Thanksgiving is in two weeks, I thought I would share all of the things I'm thankful for.

My closest friends; because I know without them I would still be a mess. Plus nobody has as much hotmess fun as we do :)

The opportunity to go to such an amazing school and further my education, while meeting life long friends.

Adam Levine... Need I say more?

Spontaneous beach road trips with my Grammy. A) I LOVE the beach and B) I love my Grammy

My family (including Max) because no matter what we act like crazy fools to get a good laugh

Oregon Chai because it's the BEST Chai ever and Chai is the best beverage ever

My ride or die because even though we don't talk or see each other all the time, we're still super close

Memories of Warped Tour, and the fact that I don't look or feel this fat anymore

Music because sometimes it's the only thing that makes everything better,
and Ed Sheeran because he sounds like an angel!

Weekends with the best, because I have best memories from those weekends

Road trips to Cali with my boys because we never have a bad time

Free Dutch Bros (or Dutch Bros in general) because it's the best coffee ever and it's cheap!

Conversations like this because conversations with my best friend are always the funniest

The fact that even though I've been through hell and back I still came out smiling

These are just a few things I'm genuinely thankful for. There are other things, but I think I'll wait until closer to Thanksgiving to tell those to the internet :)
I hope everyone is having an amazing weekend and that you all realize you have many things to be thankful for!

Happy birthday Burrito!

It's my best friend's 19th birthday so I figured I'd make a post all about him.
Happy 19th birthday little duck!

Let's start with a list, shall we?
19 thing I LOVE about my best friend (in no particular order):
1. He can literally always make me laugh, even if he just stares at me. Never fails to crack me up
2. He's one of the nicest guy ever (even if I call him an ass/he's mean to me)
3. We have had some INSANE times together, aka he's tons of fun
4. We've lost a lot of friends, but no matter what happens we're always best friends in the end
5. His incredibly weird dancing
6. The way he gets me addicted to things (TV shows, Tumblr, music)
7. The way he's always there for me
8. His dirty sense of humor (the clean one too, I guess)
9. His random seductive faces/poses (HILARIOUS and strange)
10. How we can have fun without even really doing anything
11. When he's shwasted :)
12. His hugs (especially after we haven't seen each other in forever)
13. The faces that we make at each other for no reason
14. His HORRIBLE Spanish accent
15. When he walks me downstairs and we sit in the lobby talking forever
16. Our "fights" (including the yelling, name calling, chasing and throwing of things)
17. How SUPER creepy he is sometimes
18. The strange things that happen in his room
19. How he occasionally reads my mind (kinda freaky but cool)

Honorable mentions:
*His Big Ang voice *The way he used to play with my hair *His "angry" face/when he gets mad *The way I can be myself around him *When he quotes random things *The way he used to fall asleep at the most random times *When he tells me he loves me *How random we are together *how people think we're related (including my actual family) *How he puts up with my insanity * The way we ran from people *His liar face *How he tries to pretend I don't know him *The WEIRD noises he makes randomly *How he struggles to do simple tasks occasionally *

The thing I love the most is that we've only known each other a little over a year, but it feels like we've been friends for ages. He is the greatest best friend anyone could ever ask for and I am truly thankful that I get the honor to call him best friend.
Most of my memories from last year involve my Burrito and those are some of the greatest memories I have ever had. I honestly don't know what I would do without him. He's a pain in the ass sometimes (like when he takes everything out of my backpack and throws it on my bed) but he's my pain in the ass, and I wouldn't change anything about him.
To sum this all up I wouldn't trade this kid for the world. He's my best friend, no one could EVER replace him.
Through thick and thin you have always been there for me and I can  never truly express how grateful I am for that.
I feel I don't say it enough, but I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE you Burrito and I hope you have the best 19th birthday ever.
P.S hope you're ready for one INSANE birthday celebration ;) Party party party
P.P.S HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
P.P.S.S I LOVE YOU!

Thankful

I don't even know how to write all of this out. My brain is just so freaking happy. And I realize that sounds insane.

But honestly I have never been so happy in my entire life, it sucks that it took all of the crap it took to get here, but I'm here now and I'll be damned if I'm gonna let anyone or anything ruin this.

Anyway I just want to let everyone know that I have the most amazing friends in the entire world, without them I wouldn't be here today and for that I am truly thankful.

I've pretty much expressed this on every social media network, but I cannot say it enough.

On Saturday I did something that I am not proud of. Something that I haven't felt like doing in years and the fact that I did it opened my eyes a little bit, but it was my friends that pushed me out of denial.

Even though it's only day 1 I feel a million times better.

I realize now that I have REAL friends, the kind of friends that stick around when they say they will regardless of what happens.

I am honestly so thankful to have them in my life. I've never been so happy in my life, and I owe it to them for being the biggest reason for that happiness.

They're my best friends, they're my family, they're my confidants, they're the best people I have ever met.

I love them all SO much.

And I will forever be thankful for each one of them :)

Super awesome week!

So if you couldn't tell by the title, this week has been one of the best weeks for me.
It all started last Saturday.
I went over to a friends house to vent and just hang out, it was pretty great. Her and I have never really hung out so that was super fun.
She also has a kitten that is legitimately the cutest thing I have ever seen, and everyone knows that super adorable animals make everything 1000x better!
Piña coladas and the adorable kitten!
That was just the kick off to what would turn out to be a great week. Sunday wasn't anything special, mostly homework and doing nothing but watching Youtube videos.
Monday was pretty good, I woke up and wasn't tired so that was quite amazing. Classes were okay, my favorite was my chem lab though because someone thought they were being sneaky by looking at me, but I could see them through my peripherals so that was pretty hilarious. Then after class an attractive male smiled at me, which isn't a huge deal but it made the day way better.
Tuesday was okay. I enjoyed my classes, aside from stats (I hate math). After that I didn't really do anything.
Yesterday (Wednesday) was definitely my favorite day so far. I had a great discussion with two of my best friends and that took a huge weight off my shoulders. Then we just hung out, played some volleyball. After the fifth member of our group got out of class we had a mini bonfire to let go of  bad juju.
Baby bonfire

Today isn't even half over, but I can't complain about it. I am very tired, but other than that I am super happy. Started the day with an iced soy mocha so obviously I will be a little hyper later. I haven't been this happy in weeks and I have to say I am loving it. I have the best best friends a person could ever ask for and for that I am truly thankful.
Hopefully this weekend will be as great if not better than the week has been.
Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!

Second day of school

The first day of school was yesterday and let me tell you!
Mondays are gonna SUUUUCK, more than they usually do.
At my school there's this hell hill that leads to the science building, and I have Chem at 11:30 then lab at 1:30 so I get the joys of walking up that hill twice on Mondays, yaaaay...
To make it even better I get to see one of my least favorite people in both classes.
But on the plus side I like my Spanish class!
My Tuesday & Thursday classes are pretty great.
I actually paid attention in psych today, which is a first. But the teacher is funny so I like it.
AND the sun is out plus it's still moderately warm!
I freaking love it here.
Not to mention that I am reunited with my best friends.
I think I'll survive this year, regardless of Mondays and of the icky people.
Thank god for friends and sun!
Have a fantastic week!

Welcome back! {excuse the looooong post}

So I definitely abandoned this blog when college started {my deepest apologies}, but I started a summer blog to track what I was up to in Michigan and decided that this old blog needed to be revived from the blog graveyard. this is me doing so. I'm going to try to post more often, but I can't make any promises.
My first year at SOU was quite insane. As we {my best friend and I} like to say "F***ing freshman year". It wasn't all bad, mind you, but there were definitely moments that felt like the world had it out for us. Since I didn't post at all last year let me give you a few good, and not so good, highlights of "F***ing freshman year"

THE GOOD:

  • Meeting my best friend and then meeting the rest of our little family {aka meeting the best people EVER}
  • Moving to one of the best cities I've ever been to
  • Joining teamiPhone
  • Road trips!
  • Parties, even if they ended badly I still had fun {mostly}
  • Staying up late for no real reason
  • The random conversations
  • The Dev concert :)
  • Our Easter picnic
  • Skipping class for no reason other than not wanting to go
  • Passing Sociology even though we rarely attended
  • Spending almost everyday with friends
  • Sitting in the lobby doing nothing, but having fun
  • Watching ANTM
  • Always having someone to talk to
  • Night walks to the park
  • Movie nights
  • 7-11 {nuff said}
  • Getting addicted to Tumblr

THE BAD:
  • Pathological liars
  • Untrustworthy people
  • Friendship breakups
  • Rude roommates
  • Jerk boys
  • Crying {no matter the reason or who it was, it sucked}
  • Breaking my android :( {R.I.P little buddy}
  • The party problems
  • Getting addicted to Tumblr

THE UGLY:
  • Our 'top model pictures' {YIKES!}
  • The guys I was into {Seriously they weren't cute, but they had seemingly nice personalities}
  • Friendship breakups
  • Thinking 'Amanda K' was gonna kill us {SCARIEST S*** OF MY LIFE}
  • Dominique {hahahahaha}
  • Getting addicted to Tumblr

No these aren't the complete lists, but I don't want to bore you!
Overall I'd say last year was a pretty okay year, yeah we had our ups and downs, but we all came out alive and well. Plus we had each other, and that's all that really matters in the end.
Annnnnnyway, that was my year.
I hope you'll join me for the journey of my second year!

xoxo,
Gossip Girl

Haha just kidding, I've always wanted to end a post that way

College

"Man I love college" -Asher Roth (this totally sums it all up!)

Hey guys! I really hope you can forgive me for not posting in forever, I haven't had internet and I finally got it to work after 6,000 years haha.

I got to SOU on the 17th and I have been pretty busy ever since. I took a class earlier so I could move in six days before everyone else, I'd say it was well worth it. I got two credits for the class and I only had it for four days. This post was supposed to have pictures of my dorm before and after I moved in, but since my brain has had little sleep (I've pretty much gone to bed at 5-5:30-ish every night since Thursday) and it has been on overdrive I accidentally deleted them the other day when I was bored. I will post a few pictures eventually, but since school starts tomorrow and I still have a lot to do before then I have to wait to do that.

I have so much I need to do today and it seems like I have no time at all. I am really loving Ashland and SOU, I think I made the best decision of my life to come here. Everyone living on campus has only been here for four days, but already I have met some seriously wonderful people that I hope I will be friends with for a long time, and I have met some great eye candy ;)

I can't wait to tell you all about my first day of class and all of the fun things I do tomorrow, but until then I have to keep things short.

Thanks for reading, and enjoy the school week!!

Oreos and Milk

Is this not the cutest?

Definitely my favorite dessert! I don't really like chocolate, but when I crave it I automatically think of Oreos, it's like instinct. I just had a delicious glass of milk and a single pack of Oreos (the kind that come in 12 packs of 6 cookies), so great!

And now an update into my life:
Since I leave in 3 days, I have all of my stuff packed so it's ready to go. You'd think that it would be weirder to have all of your  stuff in bags and containers, but oddly I hardly notice.
This is the food my mom got me for my dorm, all my favs!

This is all of my stuff minus clothing and bathroom stuff,
in the dining room in a corner
It's weird to think that I'm leaving in three days, but I am beyond excited! I will try to post on Saturday and show you guys my dorm and the school and the car when it's all packed. I am so excited!

The sad thing is that Ashley won't be there when I get there :( I am very sad about that but I will have fun for a few days and then when she gets there, we'll totally party! :)

It's sad that I have to say "see you later" to my hometown, family and friends, but luckily my Twinsie said she'll visit me! And I'll only be gone for two months until winter break, so I think I'll survive!
Another plus is that since it's my week my mom is making all of my favorite foods for dinner! It is really deliciously awesome!

Friday is going to be the best! I'm hanging out with my Twinsie and I get the best dinner! Then Saturday I get a delicious breakfast and have to suffer through a five hour drive down to Ashland. I may not survive ;)

Anyway it's dinner time and I smell cauliflower! Mmmmmm
Have a great rest of the week!

2 weeks...

I have been a lazy blogger and haven't done my Friend of the Week this week, so this post will be a little longer than most because it'll be a dual post.

Friend of the Week

Name: Ashley
Age: 18
Location: Beaverton, soon to be in Greensprings dorm complex with me!
Friends since: Freshman year, recently reconnected.

Ashley is so funny, and we get along so well! I don't want to say too much because I want to do a full post about my roomie in the future, but what I will say is that she and I are so alike and I think that we'll be really good roommates. We're going to have so much fun this year! I'm really glad that we reconnected senior year and are now going to be roommates! I will be sure to add more about Ashley in a later post!

Now that I B.sed my friend of the week, here's my real post.
There's a count down near the deer!
Also don't you just love my phone's wallpaper?
I do! I am sad I'll be leaving Portland soon
And yes I stole this from Anthony Napolitan's twitter

I have exactly two weeks until I leave for SOU! I am so excited, and I have 90% of what I need! So once my two weeks are up I shall be on my way to starting my college adventure. Speaking of college adventures, on the first of this month Ashley and I went downtown to meet two other girls that live in Portland and are going to SOU this fall. We had so much fun! We got downtown around 4pm and went straight to the Pioneer Courthouse Square Starbucks to meet Kindra, but she got confused and went to Pioneer Place Starbucks instead, they're only about a block or two down the street from each other so it wasn't really a huge problem. She walked to us and then we decided to wander around, well we ended up going to Pioneer Place. Basically we made Kindra walk to us for no reason haha. Anyway we wandered around and eventually we completely starving, but we couldn't eat until Emily got there so we kept walking until Ashley got the text saying Emily was close. Then we went to the food court and finally met up with Emily. We stayed downtown for about four or five hours. It was SO much fun! Especially the end where we couldn't find our way home from downtown haha. Downtown in daylight=WAY different at night!

In other news! My grandma from Michigan bought me a laptop!!
This is to show two things: 1) My new beautiful laptop and
2)That I spent my day playing Mystery P.I: San Francisco
I honestly love it so much! It is so perfect for college and just for fun. I unfortunately can't blog from it since we don't have wi-fi here and it's too late to go to Starbucks or somewhere. But I do get to play games and watch DVDs on it.
This is what I watched today! I ♥ Lucy!

Okay so this post isn't as long as I thought it would be, but I did tell you guys everything I wanted to! I'll try to be less lazy when it comes to blogging, sometimes I can't think of things to say, or I have no pictures, or both. I'll work on that!

Have an AMAZING weekend!

Kid at Heart

Since college is literally right around the corner (22 more days!) I've been realizing how much I actually miss being a kid with little responsibility and endless imagination, so I thought I would dedicate a post to being a kid. Even though I am 18 and going to be a college student in less than a month, I am still very much a kid. I think like a kid, occasionally act like a kid, and I still LOVE kid things.
These are PERFECT examples of my childlike state of being. These are the "bookends" that my roomie and I got for our dorm, we couldn't find any actual bookends that were cute, so we got these cheap at Target
Meet Alfalfa! (Ashley's)

Meet Remy! (Mine)
Yes my piggy is named after Remy from Ratatouille (My favorite movie, and more proof!). I love that we named them and that mine is a chalkboard, I was so excited! I got really colorful chalk from Fred Meyer for $.99!!
I'm also taking my pillow pet!
I still enjoy watching Disney movies, animated or not. Here's a list of my all time favorite Disney movies:
All Toy Story movies (Btw I totally love that picture!)
There are more, but that list would be too long to read, so I'll move on.

More proof I'm still a kid:
I freaked out when I found out that Teen Nick was bringing back TV shows from the '90s. All That, Kenan and Kel, Clarissa Explains It All, and Doug! I was so excited. Also last night I downloaded Phineas and Ferb ringtones, and the Boy Meets World theme song.

The moral of this story is that I will FOREVER be a kid at heart. No matter how old I am, who tries to change me, or who can't stand me because of it. I will never change who I am to please someone else, and neither should you. If someone can't love you for who you are, then they don't deserve your love at all.
I didn't mean for this to turn into a lesson, but I think it works. And I'm sure that I'll be submitting photos soon of me being a big kid :)

Sometimes you just have to scream in a blanket and cry!

So I have wanted to post for DAYS, but I've either been busy or had nothing to talk about, but then today at exactly 3:00 pm PST the most amazing thing happened! One minute I'm literally screaming in a blanket and tears are forming in my eyes, the next minute my phone is doing the Kim Possible Kimmunicator ringtone (my phones way of telling me I have an email, because yes I'm still a child at heart and I will always love KP),
I stop my little pity party and open the email, this is what it said:
This is HUGE news because I've known Ashley since Freshman year of high school and we kind of fell out of friendship, but then we found we were going to the same school we started talking again and we even have a class together! Housing messed up when they first gave us our room assignments, so this COMPLETELY makes up for it! I haven't been able to stop smiling since.

To add to this excitement I am moving to Ashland in 38 days, Ashley won't be down for 43 days because she'll be on a trip, but I am so beyond excited. We're planning on getting together and figuring out who is getting what for the room and all that. I can't wait!! I have to say this is definitely the best news I've gotten all summer!

Weekend update: I had an INSANE weekend full of movies, TV shows, YouTube videos, music videos, phone calls with guys who can't rap but try, and milkshakes with a kick. I will miss weekends with my "British mate" (more on that later), but she'll just have to come down south (Ashland) to have weekends just as crazy.
What did you guys do last weekend? Have you had any AMAZING news this summer? Leave a comment, I'd love to hear all about it!

Have an amazing week!

Summertime Insomnia and College prep

So I have been up wayyyy to long. It's 5:55 am and I haven't slept in hours. What have I been doing? Oh you know reading blogs, playing games, watching music videos, petting my dog, and other things that definitely could have waited until a reasonable hour of the day. Why is it that during the summer I am just not tired until ridiculous hours of the morning?
On a positive note I have been reading some helpful college prep blogs and sites. I feel a bit childish saying that because I remember doing that same thing when I was going into high school (so glad those days are over), but I just want to be SUPER prepared. Although I think I'll still be unprepared... Oh well. At least I have a few tips and tricks on how to survive, what to bring, how not to dress, and all the other essential things for Freshman year. I think I am a little too excited for college, I mean I was definitely never this excited for high school, but I guess it's all a part of growing up.

11.5 hours later....
I'm happy to say that I am well rested and ready for anything. Unfortunately I just got an email saying what room I'm in this year, and I am not happy at all. I don't want to complain but I didn't even sign up for that complex or hall! Hopefully it all gets sorted out soon.
Besides this little fact  I cannot stop thinking about college and all the fun things leading up to it. Planning my trip down there, getting rid of things, buying new things, meeting new people, seeing a new city and all the new adventures. The only downside I can think of is packing, ick, there's nothing more that I hate than packing. But it'll lead to fun and happiness, so I'll get over it.
Time to go create even more lists and word processor documents that all say the same thing in a different way :)
Too excited for college

Drama, drama, drama!

My life for the past few days has been insane. I have cried more than I have ever cried in my entire life, but I guess that's what I get for thinking life will get easier before I leave.
ANYWAY! On a happy note I only have about 47 more days (not counting the rest of today) until I leave!! I don't actually need to be down to Ashland until the 17th of September, but I'm leaving a day early to go exploring! On the way down from Beaverton to Ashland there are all these sites and fun things to do, so I'm going to indulge myself and take a mini vacation. I'm really excited because I have never been on a trip by myself and I never knew that Oregon was so beautiful until I took the trip down to Ashland at the beginning of July. I am so excited! I was going to add a map, but I'm not that tech savy yet haha.
Speaking of college let me tell you a few things that I'm excited for!
A) New friends
B) Leaving home and living in a beautiful new city
C) College life, nuff said.
D) New experiences and life lessons
E) I am in LOVE with Ashland and SOU!

Can you tell I'm excited? Haha. Ohhhh I almost forgot in one day we find out who our roommates are and what hall we're in! I am literally ecstatic! I got a call from the housing department and they asked if I wanted to room with my friend who's also going, DUH, and so hopefully they room us together. I'll let you know when I find out!

On another exciting note, Final Destination 5 comes out in 13 days, I have seen every one of those movies, and this one will be no different. I love thrillers/horror movies. They don't actually scare me, but they are amazing.
Hope everyone has had a great weekend!
