100 Things That Make Me Happy: Part I

I got this lovely idea for the 100 things that make me happy series from a lovely little blog called Sofia's Journal, and thought that it would be a good idea for two reasons 1) it'll be a reminder of happiness when I'm feeling low and 2) maybe it'll inspire you to make a list of things that make you happy. This is the first in the series of 10 and of course this list in in no particular order at all. Enjoy :)

1. Anything related to Lucille Ball

2. Coffee first thing in the morning

3. Reading a great book

4. Going to bed after a long day

5. The smell of fresh cut grass on a summer day

6. Getting all dressed up for a special occasion

7. Hard earned money

8. My best friend
sorry for the bad quality picture

9. Taking a solo drive

10. Wrapping up in a ton of comforters in the winter

Come back soon for the second part :)

A Few of My Favorite Things: Summer

Since summer is slowly coming to an end [thank God, I can't wait to get back to Ashland], I thought I would share a few of my favorite things; summer 2013 edition:

1.

The weather, living in Oregon is great because it's beautiful. The downside is the amount of rain that comes with living in Oregon, so when summer rolls around the clouds disappear and the sun comes out to play. I am in LOVE with the heat, mostly because I am literally always cold [I shiver when it's 80 degrees].

2.

Trips to the Coast, last summer my grandma and I took an impromptu trip to seaside and then ventured down to Tillamook for some ice cream. I love going to the coast during the summer, it's a nice little getaway from work and school and I'm in love with the ocean.

3.
Fresh fruit, all of my favorite fruits are only in season during the summer. There is nothing better than a bowl of fresh fruit on a hot day. Plus fruit is a very healthy snack

4.

No school, don't get me wrong, I LOVE my school and the people that go there, but a break from the work is definitely needed every now and then. This one leads to my next favorite thing about summer

5.
Lazy days, you know the days where you wake up, drink some coffee, have a bowl of cereal and watch your favorite shows? Those are the ones I'm talking about. I don't like being lazy all of the time because I like to feel productive but occasionally being lazy is just what the doctor prescribed.

6.

Catching up on TV shows, during the school year I don't really watch tv because a) I don't have a TV, and b) I don't have time because of class and work and spending time with friends, so during summer I catch up on all of my favorites. Besides I hate waiting a week to see the next episode, so waiting gives me a good amount of episodes and no wait.

7.

The clothes, I'm one of those people who hates wearing clothes [no I'm not a nudist], I would just rather not wear jeans. That being said I do still love wearing sweaters and boots in the winter. Summer just gives me an excuse to wear minimal clothing.

8.

The 4th of July, the fireworks, the barbecues, the sun, the lazy feel of the day, the celebrations. Seriously what's not to love about the 4th of July?

♥  Honorable mentions ♥
♥ iced coffee♥ road trips♥ longs nights♥ no need for makeup♥ seeing my family♥ summer jobs♥ summer discounts at my favorite stores♥ the colors♥ summer shows♥ reading all day♥ lack of responsibilities♥ the drinks♥ the concerts♥ netflix

Just a few things

Lately I have been having an overwhelming feeling of pure happiness,
and since Thanksgiving is in two weeks, I thought I would share all of the things I'm thankful for.

My closest friends; because I know without them I would still be a mess. Plus nobody has as much hotmess fun as we do :)

The opportunity to go to such an amazing school and further my education, while meeting life long friends.

Adam Levine... Need I say more?

Spontaneous beach road trips with my Grammy. A) I LOVE the beach and B) I love my Grammy

My family (including Max) because no matter what we act like crazy fools to get a good laugh

Oregon Chai because it's the BEST Chai ever and Chai is the best beverage ever

My ride or die because even though we don't talk or see each other all the time, we're still super close

Memories of Warped Tour, and the fact that I don't look or feel this fat anymore

Music because sometimes it's the only thing that makes everything better,
and Ed Sheeran because he sounds like an angel!

Weekends with the best, because I have best memories from those weekends

Road trips to Cali with my boys because we never have a bad time

Free Dutch Bros (or Dutch Bros in general) because it's the best coffee ever and it's cheap!

Conversations like this because conversations with my best friend are always the funniest

The fact that even though I've been through hell and back I still came out smiling

These are just a few things I'm genuinely thankful for. There are other things, but I think I'll wait until closer to Thanksgiving to tell those to the internet :)
I hope everyone is having an amazing weekend and that you all realize you have many things to be thankful for!

Happy birthday Burrito!

It's my best friend's 19th birthday so I figured I'd make a post all about him.
Happy 19th birthday little duck!

Let's start with a list, shall we?
19 thing I LOVE about my best friend (in no particular order):
1. He can literally always make me laugh, even if he just stares at me. Never fails to crack me up
2. He's one of the nicest guy ever (even if I call him an ass/he's mean to me)
3. We have had some INSANE times together, aka he's tons of fun
4. We've lost a lot of friends, but no matter what happens we're always best friends in the end
5. His incredibly weird dancing
6. The way he gets me addicted to things (TV shows, Tumblr, music)
7. The way he's always there for me
8. His dirty sense of humor (the clean one too, I guess)
9. His random seductive faces/poses (HILARIOUS and strange)
10. How we can have fun without even really doing anything
11. When he's shwasted :)
12. His hugs (especially after we haven't seen each other in forever)
13. The faces that we make at each other for no reason
14. His HORRIBLE Spanish accent
15. When he walks me downstairs and we sit in the lobby talking forever
16. Our "fights" (including the yelling, name calling, chasing and throwing of things)
17. How SUPER creepy he is sometimes
18. The strange things that happen in his room
19. How he occasionally reads my mind (kinda freaky but cool)

Honorable mentions:
*His Big Ang voice *The way he used to play with my hair *His "angry" face/when he gets mad *The way I can be myself around him *When he quotes random things *The way he used to fall asleep at the most random times *When he tells me he loves me *How random we are together *how people think we're related (including my actual family) *How he puts up with my insanity * The way we ran from people *His liar face *How he tries to pretend I don't know him *The WEIRD noises he makes randomly *How he struggles to do simple tasks occasionally *

The thing I love the most is that we've only known each other a little over a year, but it feels like we've been friends for ages. He is the greatest best friend anyone could ever ask for and I am truly thankful that I get the honor to call him best friend.
Most of my memories from last year involve my Burrito and those are some of the greatest memories I have ever had. I honestly don't know what I would do without him. He's a pain in the ass sometimes (like when he takes everything out of my backpack and throws it on my bed) but he's my pain in the ass, and I wouldn't change anything about him.
To sum this all up I wouldn't trade this kid for the world. He's my best friend, no one could EVER replace him.
Through thick and thin you have always been there for me and I can  never truly express how grateful I am for that.
I feel I don't say it enough, but I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE you Burrito and I hope you have the best 19th birthday ever.
P.S hope you're ready for one INSANE birthday celebration ;) Party party party
P.P.S HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
P.P.S.S I LOVE YOU!

Thankful

I don't even know how to write all of this out. My brain is just so freaking happy. And I realize that sounds insane.

But honestly I have never been so happy in my entire life, it sucks that it took all of the crap it took to get here, but I'm here now and I'll be damned if I'm gonna let anyone or anything ruin this.

Anyway I just want to let everyone know that I have the most amazing friends in the entire world, without them I wouldn't be here today and for that I am truly thankful.

I've pretty much expressed this on every social media network, but I cannot say it enough.

On Saturday I did something that I am not proud of. Something that I haven't felt like doing in years and the fact that I did it opened my eyes a little bit, but it was my friends that pushed me out of denial.

Even though it's only day 1 I feel a million times better.

I realize now that I have REAL friends, the kind of friends that stick around when they say they will regardless of what happens.

I am honestly so thankful to have them in my life. I've never been so happy in my life, and I owe it to them for being the biggest reason for that happiness.

They're my best friends, they're my family, they're my confidants, they're the best people I have ever met.

I love them all SO much.

And I will forever be thankful for each one of them :)

A Few of My Favorite Things: Fall

Fall is starting soon and I thought I would share a few of my favorite things, fall edition:

1.

Hot Chocolate with marshmallows, there is nothing I love more than cuddling up with a big mug of hot cocoa with marshmallows on top. Obviously I choose this picture because I would love to have cloud shaped marshmallows.

2.

When the Leaves Change Colors, I love the reds and yellows and oranges. When the leaves start changing that's when I know that fall is right around the corner!

3.

Rain, I have lived in Portland/Beaverton my whole life and no matter how much I complain, I LOVE the rain. Especially in the fall. The rain boots, the umbrellas, the puddles, the sky before, during, and after, and the smell once it stops. Can't get enough.

4.

Saying goodbye to summer, in memorable ways with friends.

5.

School, I can't help but get those pre-school jitters EVERY year on the first day of school. No matter how long I've gone to that school I always get them. Will I make it to school on time? Will I walk into the wrong classroom? Will I like my teachers? Will I know anyone in class? Will I be able to open my locker? Will any of my friends have the same lunch as me? All of those questions go through my head. Luckily I won't have to worry about half those things this year.

6.
My Twinsie's birthday! I love birthdays as a whole, but especially when it's for someone I love, and trust me I love this girl!

7.

Halloween, candy, costumes, decorations, "scary" stories, and the Disney Halloween movies that come back once a year! What's not to love?

8.

Thanksgiving, I don't really enjoy the food, but I love what the holiday is as a whole. Getting together with family you may not see all the time, cooking, watching Football, watching the Macy's Day Parade, and getting to give thanks for everything in your life.

♥  Honorable mentions ♥
Cuddling up and watching movies ♥ coffee dates ♥ staying home with a cup of something warm and a good book ♥ chicken noodle soup (only when I'm sick) ♥ sweatshirts that are too big ♥ comfy boots a million ♥ comforters on my bed
♥ trips to the pumpkin patch

And that my friends is the first edition of A Few Of My Favorite Things. I hope you enjoyed.
Feel Free to tell me a few of your favorite things in a comment!
